Towards a European Digital Skills Certificate
With an ever growing need for digital skills to navigate today's society, a European Digital Skills Certificate (EDSC) is needed to ensure that citizens, employers, governments and other actors have an easily recognisable certification of digital skills. Indeed, the current digital skills training offer from governments and training providers is very varied across Europe and it is often difficult to assess digital skills levels. With the EDSC, the European Commission aims to simplify the recognition of digital skills by governments, employers and training providers across Europe. The development of this certificate will start with a feasibility study in September 2021, followed by a pilot prototyping phase in September 2022 and a full launch and operation in 2023.Commission launches the expert group on AI and data in education
