The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, funded by the European Union, aims to train one million professionals in advanced technology fields by the end of 2025. TheCall for Training Proposals launched by EIT seeks to catalyse collaboration among key stakeholders in the advanced technology training ecosystem, promote the exchange of best practices and innovative methodologies, and ultimately contribute to the creation of a highly skilled, adaptable, and inclusive workforce in the advanced technology sector. 

Areas

Proposals should focus exclusively on one of the following areas of Deep Tech: Advanced Computing/Quantum Computing; Advanced Materials; Artificial Intelligence applied to specific sectors; Cybersecurity; Robotics; Semiconductors (microchips); Clean technologies; Immersive technologies. 

Target Groups

This Call aims at developing tertiary training. The target groups include students and faculty at universities, those seeking vocational training, and professionals looking to develop their skills further, and may address target audiences that are often underrepresented in deep tech fields, e.g., women, people with disadvantaged backgrounds, individuals re-entering the job market, etc., or may address an immediate market or training need that is underdeveloped.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Entities eligible to participate include educational institutions, non-profits, start-ups, companies, and organisations dedicated to advancing deep technology education and skill development across Europe.
  • Proposals must be developed by a consortium of at least two entities.
  • All applicants must have signed the EIT Deep Tech Talent InitiativePledge at the time of proposal submission.
  • Eligible countries include EU Member States, EU Outermost regions linked to Member States, and countries associated with Horizon Europe. 

Funding

  • Total budget: up to 2 million EUR.
  • Amount per project: 100.000-150.000 EUR
  • Number of funded project proposals: up to 20 projects.

Timeline

The deadline to submit applications is set to 20 June 2024 at 17:00 CEST, Brussels Time and the start date of projects is foreseen for 1 September 2024
